A day or two ago and again just about a minute ago, for some reason a flavor that I haven’t tasted in many years came back into my mind. Orange Juice from a can – not frozen OJ, but the kind of OJ you get in little steel cans with a metallized plastic membrane over the opening that you peel off before drinking. The cans look like this. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I think they used to serve these on airplanes a lot, but you could buy them in the grocery store, too. I hadn’t seen these in stores for a long time, but while searching for a picture of the cans, I found that these are still sold. Anyway, I never really liked the way this OJ tasted and I haven’t had it in probably a decade or more, but for some reason I was reminded of it this week. Weird.

haha, very nice, sir. i do remember tasting some type of “watered down/sweetened up” OJ in the past as well, not all that dissimilar from your particular example… ha. actually, maybe i’m thinking of sunny d from my jr. high days… hmmm
speaking of remembered tastes, how ’bout that brett favre retirement? man, i’ve always respected him even though he inflicted so much damage and pain and dread on me and my Bears in the mid-90’s, late-90’s, early-00’s,… until recently, when we started beating him consistently (including both wins last season!). of course, there was the “walter payton game” on 11/7/99, 6 days after sweetness pass away, we beat green bay 14-13 on a BLOCKED chip-shot field goal attempt to preserve the win! my first win over the packers. and later that night, my first concert ever – Steven Curtis Chapman, only 5 minutes away, in Naperville!
